Dennis, Colin and Saul all studied various elements of Construction at City College Norwich. They share a selection of their memories from the 70’s and 80’s and snippets of their lives after college.
City College Norwich has always worked very closely with the local business community in order to meet the skills needed for the local economy. However it was not until 1936, some 35 years into our history, that the subject of business itself become firmly established as a key part of the curriculum. It has remained so ever since. Here are a few highlights from the last 90 years of business and retail at CCN.
Full circle for James, he started studying at City College in 1967 to complete his Apprentice training and then ended up back at the college in 2002 as an NVQ instructor!

With a long and successful history in the area of Construction, City College Norwich has supported the wider community and won national awards making Construction a popular and rewarding choice. Currently, there are five different courses including apprenticeships covering bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, electrical and plumbing.

A history of Higher Education at City College Norwich can be traced back to the 1890’s with links over the years with Cambridge, London University and in latter years with the University of East Anglia. An important offering at the college with degree courses going from strength to strength!

Simon’s sport education at City College Norwich gave him the stepping stone he needed to achieve a First Class Honours in Sport and Exercise Science at University. He talks of inspirational staff and making great friends….
