Inclusive learning: how our college has been at the forefront of opportunity for all!

Ever since its beginnings in 1891, inclusive learning has been at the heart of City Colleges remit with principles of inclusion and of widening educational opportunity to all. Initially this could be seen with new opportunities being created for young people from working class backgrounds, for women, and for adults looking to retrain and gain new skills in response to changing patterns of industry/employment and growing social mobility. In the latter part of the 20th Century, society was changing and saw individuals with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LDD) became part of this picture of inclusive education at the college.
